Your content is excellent. I am Jewish but like many Americans born in this country, I live by Jewish ideals and am less involved in the religion. It is sad to see the threats against our Democracy here as well as worldwide. People have forgotten the destruction and loss of life brought about by right wing fanaticism. Clearly, these people know nothing about history. Thank you.

I love reading your content. I am not Jewish, but one who is searching. I find enormous comfort in your writings.

I wanted to ask you if you feel there can ever be a Palestinian country? Or would that cause constant war? I'm no expert, and know little of the area, but have always wanted peace for everyone.

Thanks so much Teresa. I remain in favor of a two state solution and believe that is still the majority view among Jews and Palestinians, because the alternative is perpetual warfare and suffering, as we've seen. I think we still haven't seen the formula that will get us there, one that provides security and dignity for all sides, but that it can happen. While this 100-year war has been so intractable, people thought the same about the conflicts in Ireland. South Africa and Vietnam. Who 80 years ago could have imagined that Germany and Japan would be among our closest allies? So I do think two states can coexist. The changes that have been brought about by the past year of war - including the political earthquake in Syria - have yet to sort themselves out. Now that Israel is reestablishing some sort of deterrence externally, we can only hope that creative and courageous leadership will emerge internally - and throughout the region.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I was beginning to think it was wishful thinking on my part. I was raised in an evangelical Christian church, but saw racism and bigotry in both the church and my family. I believe in a higher power, but no longer want to associate with the hypocrisy I grew up with.

I find your writings to be a breath of fresh air.
