That word for “future” is fueled by preparation, intent, and what MLK called “an audacious faith.” Plus something to do with goats. We've got enough of all that to survive the next four years.
Actually I don't know what to say. If I knew, it would be something magnificent.
Maybe like the future is now for the hostages who were released. Thank you Rabbi Joshua, I needed to read your message today. I'm less terrified for the future 🌠
The grounds people are so often forgotten yet they are really the ones that make the world go round.
In another substack I mentioned a fictional spy novel published in 1959, written by Scottish author Alistair MacLeon called THE LAST FRONTIER. I didn't pick this book to read for a particular reason, in fact I usually don't care for spy novels. I have a shelf of paperbacks that have fantasy, star trek, sci fi, mystery stories, etc. Every 3rd book or so I randomly pick one of these books to read. Turns out that I really like this book, not only because it is a real page turner; but, also because of one of the characters. He has had a dreadful life and done dreadful things. At the current time he is helping people escape from a hellish regime and speaks to the hope that all people will learn to live in peace.
I didn't pay any attention to when the book was published nor was I familiar with the author. As this character is speaking I think this sounds like what is happening in the world today. So I looked. 60 or so years ago the issues we are facing now were of concern to this author.
So, today I decide that I need to catch up on my e-mails and here I am. :-) Then what happens you have posted MLK, Jr.'s speech which of course talks about non-violence and the need for unity and peace.
I thought that I was prepared for what Trump would be doing. By gosh he said what he'd be doing. I really wasn't. I didn't watch the inauguration nor click on anything that mentioned him. I mostly watched the puppies and kittens that Meidas broadcasted and was outdoors taking care of my chickens on Monday.
This morning I clicked on a few things and felt so very sad. Sad that one person, supported by the billionaires and his Maga crowd could be so cold and cruel. Since I didn't want the rest of my day "ruined" I went outside. The weather was perfect, warm and no wind. I got a lot done.
This is only day two.
The hostage exchange and possible peace is a good thing. I am happy about that. I know it will be very difficult for everyone concerned. Imagine a thousand musicians playing. I will be thinking of that. Would be nice if a thousand musicians got together in the USA to play for peace here.
Again and again, THANK YOU! So much substance of hope. Beautiful. We need all we can get.
Bring Them Home Now... POWERFUL, MOVING, AWESOME
Compelling, mesmerizing. 1,000 musicians together.

Thank you Ruth. Lovely sentiments

Thank you for being you!
Yes, thank you for words of hope! As Christians, we have a little more guidance in Ephesians 6: “Put on the full armor of God…”
