Thanks for your drawing on the Torah to fence in Trumpian border-bashing and to navigate the hopes for two adjacent states, a challenge that India and Pakistan still have not yet Canadized (or so it seemed until the setting of Northern Lights in the Trumpian imagination). I offer only one minor dissent: if and when the Western Hemisphere reaches a more collaborative co-existence, maybe our neighbors can agree on an additional, more international sharing of the name for the gulf: the "Gulf of the Americas."

Holy Smokes Rabbi! I'm not Jewish; at least not born. I grew up in a neighborhood with a substantial amount of Jewish families. My parents didn't raise me in a particular religion. They allowed me to attend any church as long as they knew the parishioners, e.g. neighbors. I attended my first Jewish wedding at the age of 29 — best wedding ever! Fast forward: academia, a requirement of one of my Religious Studies classes was to attend a house of worship never attended to prior. There was a synagogue that I passed every day on my way to college; so, I was curious. I decided to attend with fellow classmate. Coincidentally, this particular day of worship was dedicated to a bar mitzvah. Immediately, I felt a deep sense of intrusion. Deciding to leave, we were stopped by the congregation and assured that we were welcome to join in the most important passage. It was a beautiful experience that I have never forgotten. I guess my point is that I truly understand and appreciate this dissertation on Trump's lack of faith and/or knowledge in the 10 Commandment. I'm assuming that he truly does not have a clue what it is or what it means. I sincerely appreciate (from the bottom of my heart) your dedication to driving this point home. I get it — he never will.

L'Chaim!
