Dear Casey,

Mommy and Daddy said you wrote an article, so we read it! Wow, Casey, you're a top-notch writer. We think newspapers might be hiring canine journalists, and since you're feeling so Amazing these days, maybe you should apply to the New York Times...or write a memoir?

We wish you, your mom and dad a Shabbat Shalom! Hope you get lots of good challah,

Delilah and Thunder (and their mommy and daddy)

Animals don´t need religion. They live it already, need no teachings, no clarification, no debates. Pure "buddha consciousness 🧘." What we all lost in our grand evolution. And we understand so little of their world, of their culture, in spite of all the "experts" writing books and busy "training" them. How stupid of Kristi N. to become enraged as she grabbed her dog as it went after the chickens. He most probably thought she was another animal of prey attacking him from behind. A dog trying to defend itself against another dog or "busy" hunting down and killing chickens doesn´t notice who has attacked him from behind, not even his owner. As to the goat issue, he was just being a billy goat. The kids probably played with him when he was little, and he just continued to "play" with them when he got big. What a stupid stupid woman. Thank you for this beautiful page from your Notebook and thank you Casey 🐾❤️ for enlightening us all!

Thanks to everyone for supporting Casey’s budding writing career. I think about how far behind humans are in almost every sense - dogs run laps around us in smelling, hearing, speed and agility and I think in memory and common sense too. Being color blind might have its advantages too. The only thing we have on them is the knowledge that we are going to die, and I’m not sure if that’s true - or such an advantage.

Interesting dog, Casey. Survives terminal cancer, writes very good articles and provides comfort to his Dad. A much too good writer for that cowardly NYT’s. I suggest writing for Substack. Shalom aleichem Casey and your whole family. 😊🐕💕

I’ve always wondered how shooting their dog affected her children.
