Welcome to “In This Moment: A Rabbi's Notebook” by me, Joshua Hammerman, a celebrated (and exceedingly humble) rabbi, award-winning journalist, blogger and author of Embracing Auschwitz: Forging a Vibrant, Life-Affirming Judaism that Takes the Holocaust Seriously, and Mensch-Marks: Life Lessons of a Human Rabbi - Wisdom for Untethered Times. I’ve won the top Simon Rockower Prize (known as the “Jewish Pulitzer”) for commentary and in 2019 I was first prize winner for excellence in commentary at the Religion News Association Awards.  Oh, and I’ve written for the NY Times Magazine, Washington Post and a host of Jewish and general publications, including the NY Jewish Week, where I was a regular columnist for 25 years.
