You've provided a sobering and useful report of devastation still widespread nearly a year after the Eaton wildfire. With a Federal government increasingly MIA on weather reporting, responding to natural disasters, and climate analysis, future safety and recovery will at least for the foreseeable election cycle probably hinge on the recovery and preventive efforts of relatively affluent state governments like California. Hopefully footnote 1 will become an unrepeated relic of history.

I’m reminded of a documentary on the aftermath at Chernobyl which saw the return of wildlife long before it was safe for humans. Life finds a way!
